If you didn’t find a perfect popular dog name for your new puppy, here’s a few tips to help you come up with a great name of your own.  Keep the dog’s name short and sweet.  This will be easier for you to scream when you see poochikins eating your new shoes, and it will be easier for the little one to recognize, too.  Longer names are great for show dogs, or if you can shorten it to a cool nickname.

Try naming your new pup after your favorite movie character like Rambo or Luke Skywalker for a boy, or London or Akeelah (for a really smart pooch) for a girl dog.  Maybe you’re more into music.  If so, who’s your favorite artist?  Brittany, Aretha, Celine for a girl or perhaps Garth, Axel, or Yani for a boy dog.

The point is that it doesn’t matter what you name your dog, whether it’s a popular dog name or a popular character name.  Maybe it’s the name of the most popular person from high school (or was that you?).  You can create a name that’s as unique as a chili pepper on rye sandwich, who cares?  As long as it’s a name that you love, then there are no popular dog names that can beat it.
