Cute Dog Names
So you’ve just brought home your new puppy and now it’s time to think of some great dog names. Do you want to go with a popular dog name and hope that the neighbors moving in next door don’t have a Max or a Lady? That could be confusing. You could look for something more exotic and unique for your exotic Italian breed, like Aldabella, meaning beautiful, or Pancrazio, which means supreme ruler. Those are hard to say though. No matter what breed of puppy you have, it is sure to be a little cutey. So why not look for cute dog names for him or her?
What is cuter these days than comedy? Some of the most popular television shows are funny sitcoms and even cute crime dramas. Really, who is cuter than Monk? And what a perfect cute dog name, too. Even reality shows are going cute now, like Last Comic Standing. Comic is a great name for a dog, and what could be cuter? Who’s your favorite comic? How about Cosby or Roseanne (Rosie for short)? Could it be Foxworthy? That’s a wonderful name for a Fox Terrier.
Foxworthy made redneck a household word – a word that makes people think of funny and cute things. You know you’re a redneck if your dog has a cute redneck name. For boy redneck dogs, you could go with Buckshot, Remington, Moonshine, Boozer, Skeeter, Hillbilly, or just plain Dawg. For your girl redneck, you’ll have to come up with some cute dog names like Daisy, Jaylene, Linda Lou, Minnie and/or Pearl, LuLu, Granny or Ellie Mae.
Okay, so you’re not a hillbilly (or won’t admit it) but still want cute dog names. I’ve scoured the internet, called all my friends, and checked with my neighbors and long lost family and here are some of the cute dog names that people have named their dogs, and why.
Boo, the strange neighbor turned good guy in To Kill a Mockingbird.
Freckles, because of her spots.
Chuckles, because she has clown markings around her mouth.
Harley, because I carried him home on my Harley.
Perp, “I’m a cop, enough said.”
Hattie, she came home and fell asleep in my hat.
Casper, the friendly ghost, for my white Maltese.
Scrappy and Scruffy, the names just fit these two little ragamuffins.
Popcorn, we’re movie lovers.
Scooter, for a Dachshund, strap a pole to it and he looks like a scooter.
Ripper, ask my slippers.
Chrissy, the pup was a Christmas present.
Have you found any cute dog names yet that suit your puppy? No? Here’s an idea. Go to the kitchen and open up the fridge and food pantry. What do you see that would make cute dog names? I tried this experiment and here are some of the names I came up with. Heinz, Duncan, Sweet Pea, Cupcake, Jello, Biscuit, Sugar, and Honey Buns. Give it a try. If you can’t find some really cute dog names around the kitchen, keep looking. Cute dog names are all around you.
