Dog Names: Find Your Own Girl Dog Names
Choosing dog names for a new girl puppy can be a lot of fun for you and your family. The wonderful thing about girl dog names is that they can come from anywhere. You don’t have to worry about your German Shepherd puppy growing up and having to put Poochikins Von Hindenberg on her job application. You don’t need to concern yourself that your girl puppy Veggie Jones will grow up to marry a dog named Hugo Tarian. (get it? Veggie Tarian? – poor girl!) The greatest thing about girl dog names is that they can be whatever you want them to be.
Where do girl dog names come from? Well, many people will buy a book of dog names and choose from there. This is nice because you can usually find the meanings to go with the names. But shouldn’t the name you choose have meaning to you? Try thinking of the things that are a part of your live, or the things you love. Are you a baseball fan? How about Aaron (though the girl dog name would be Erin) or Babe? Love the Opera? Madame Butterfly is a cool girl dog name. Love to read Stephen King? Cujo or Christine are some good choices.
Movie buffs have little trouble finding female dog names. See if you can name the movie that each of these girl dog names came from (hint, the names are those of the dogs’ characters, not people characters). Find the answers at the end.

Maybe you prefer to travel around town in your sporty car or on your bike. If so, then how about Harley, Honda, Beamer, Vette, Cherokee, Evolution (Evo for short). Perhaps your first car was a Sunfire or a Love Bug. Let the manufacturers choose your girl dog names, they seem to be pretty good at it.
Some of the best girl dog names are chosen by the kids, and they can come up with some doozies. I asked my children, 10 and 12 years old, to throw out some girl dog names for the purpose of passing this information along to you, and here’s what they came up with. Puffy, Fluffy, Tinkerbell, Tweek, Candy, Roxy, and Mittens are the names they came up with on the fly. These are actually quite cute.
